This hands-on tutorial walks you through enriching your first products with AI-generated content. By the end, you’ll understand the complete enrichment workflow from product selection to applying changes.

Prerequisites

  • ✅ Cernel account created
  • ✅ Store connected (Shopify or Feed uploaded)
  • ✅ Products synced to Cernel

Step-by-Step Tutorial

1. Select Products

Go to Products

Click Products → All Products in the sidebar

Choose Test Products

Select 5-10 products from the same categoryWhy same category? Consistent context produces better results

Use Checkboxes

Click the checkbox next to each product you want to enrich
For your first test, choose products that already have some data (title, basic description). This gives the AI context to work with.

2. Open Enrichment Modal

Click 'Enrich' Button

Located at the top of the product table

Modal Opens

You’ll see:
  • Selected products count
  • Connected sites
  • Available attributes

3. Choose Attributes

Recommended for first enrichment:
  • Description - HTML-formatted product description with rich text
  • Color - Single-select product color attribute
Why these two?
  • They’re the most common attributes across e-commerce
  • Easy to review and understand
  • Give you a good sense of AI quality
  • Description shows AI’s ability to generate rich content
  • Color demonstrates structured attribute generation

Search or Browse

Use the search bar to find attributes or browse categories

Check Boxes

Select the 2 recommended attributes above

Review Selection

Confirm: 5-10 products × 2 attributes = 10-20 enrichments

4. Start the Job

Click 'Start Enrichment'

Job Created

Success message appears

Redirected to Dashboard

You’re automatically taken to the Dashboard to monitor progress

5. Monitor Progress

On the Dashboard, you’ll see your job card with a progress bar, status, and time estimate (usually 1-3 minutes for 10 products).
Jobs run in the background—you can navigate away and check back later. For advanced monitoring features, see Jobs & Monitoring.

6. Review Results

Once completed:

Click the Job Card

Opens job detail page

View Product List

See all 10 products with status:
  • ✅ Success (most should be green)
  • ❌ Failed (if any—note the error messages)

Click First Product

Opens review drawer on the right

7. Evaluate AI Content

In the review drawer, for each attribute: Product Description:
  • Does it accurately describe the product?
  • Is the tone appropriate for your brand?
  • Are features and benefits highlighted?
  • Any factual errors or hallucinations?
Short Description:
  • Is it concise yet compelling?
  • Does it work as a product card summary?
Meta Title:
  • Under 55 characters?
  • Includes product name and key feature?
  • Compelling for search results?
Meta Description:
  • Under 160 characters?
  • Includes call-to-action?
  • Naturally incorporates keywords?

8. Make Decisions

For each attribute: Option 1: Accept
  • Content is good as-is
  • Click ✅ Accept
Option 2: Edit
  • Content is mostly good but needs tweaks
  • Click ✏️ Edit
  • Make changes inline
  • Click Save
Option 3: Reject
  • Content doesn’t work at all
  • Click ❌ Reject
  • Keeps original content
Don’t aim for perfection on your first pass. The goal is to understand AI quality and workflow—you can refine later.

9. Review All Products

Move to Next Product

Click arrow or select next product from list

Repeat Review Process

Evaluate, accept/edit/reject

Note Patterns

Are most products high quality? Are there consistent issues?

10. Apply Changes

Once you’ve reviewed all products:

Select Products

Use checkboxes to select products with accepted changes (or “Select All”)

Click 'Apply Selected'

Confirm

Confirm you want to push changes to your store

Changes Sync

  • Shopify: Updates within 1-2 minutes
  • Feed: Export enriched data and import to your platform

11. Verify in Store

Open Your E-commerce Platform

Go to your Shopify admin or platform

Find an Enriched Product

Open one of the products you enriched

Check Fields

Verify the new content appears correctly:
  • Product description
  • Meta fields (may need to check metafields or SEO app)

View on Storefront

Preview the product page to see how it looks to customers
