How Integrations Work

1. Connect Your Store

Link your e-commerce platform to Cernel:
  • Shopify: OAuth authorization (read/write products and metafields)
  • Feed: Upload CSV/JSON file with product data

2. Automatic Product Sync

Once connected, Cernel syncs your product catalog:
  • Products and variants
  • Collections/categories
  • Existing descriptions and attributes
  • Images
  • Pricing and SKUs

3. Enrich in Cernel

Use Cernel’s AI to generate:
  • Product descriptions
  • SEO meta tags
  • Structured attributes (color, material, size, etc.)
  • Image alt text
  • Multi-language content

4. Push Updates Back

After reviewing AI-generated content, push approved changes back to your platform:
  • Shopify: Updates sync automatically via API
  • Feed: Export enriched data and import to your platform

Integration Setup Time

How long does it take to get started?
StepTime
Connect Shopify store2 minutes
Initial product sync (1,000 products)5-10 minutes
Upload feed (1,000 products)5 minutes
First enrichment5-15 minutes
Total time to first enriched product15-30 minutes
Large catalogs (10,000+ products) take longer to sync initially but still complete within an hour.

Disconnecting an Integration

If you need to disconnect a store:
1

Go to Settings → Sites

View all connected sites
2

Select Site

Click on the site you want to disconnect
3

Click 'Disconnect'

Confirm the disconnection
4

Data Handling

Choose what to do with product data:
  • Keep products in Cernel (view-only)
  • Delete all products from this site
Disconnecting a Shopify site stops automatic syncing. Changes in Cernel won’t push to your store anymore. Re-connecting restores sync.

Shopify: Verify metafield mappings are configured. Check that Cernel still has write permissions.Feed: Export enriched data and manually import to your platform.
Shopify: Products must be published (not draft) to sync. Check product status in Shopify.Feed: Ensure all products in your feed have required fields (ID, title).
